Dhaka: 24 February- The prize giving ceremony of this year at A.K High School, Dhaka was held on the 24th February with the Headmaster of the school in the chair. The Secretary of Education was present in the function as the chief guest. Guardians and the elite of the society also attended there. The school buildings and surroundings were beautifully decorated with flags and festoons. A big pandal with a stage was set up. The ceremony began at 3:00 p.m. At first, the Headmaster read out the annual report. Before the prize giving starts, students performed a one-act drama on the liberation war. Their excellent performance highly impressed all the spectators.
The chief guest started to give away prizes at 4:30 p.m. after he had delivered a short speech. The prizes were given in different categories which included good result in the last Final Examination, regular attendance, winners in the annual sports of school, A+ scorer in the last J.S.C and S.S.C examination and so on. In his speech, the chief guest advised the students to be disciplined and attentive to study to build up them as the future leader of the country.
The function came to an end at 6:00 p.m. In his concluding speech, the Headmaster thanked the chief guest, other guests, attendants and all the students- winner or defeated and expressed hope of their brighter future.
