Ecological Balance- Paragraph

The word which is essentially associated with the term ecological balance is environment. The two main entities of the environment are object and force. All of the objects- natural and man-made and the forces together constitute our environment. In other words, all the elements around us like air, water, soil, birds, animals, humans, ocean currents, wind, sunlight, heat and so on collectively make up our environment. Now, what is ecological balance? None of the elements of the environment is detached from others. There exists a close relationship between and among them. Naturally, the whole of the universe, with their mutual invisible bond, maintains or wants to maintain a balance. This is called ecological balance. This ecological balance is very essential for the co-existence of each of the elements of the environment. They all have collectively made a web. If any portion of the web gets disturbed, the whole environment falls imbalanced or disordered which may cause disaster in the world. If one looks at a frog in naked eye, it may not appear to one to be a thing of worth. But a frog is a part of the great ecosystem. Frogs eat up the harmful insects and thus keep up a balance. Though we don’t know what importance a little creature holds, we can strongly apprehend its necessity after we lose it or it is extinct. Again all should keep in mind that it is man who can break this chain or web by doing inconsiderate or cruel acts which eventually leads man to disasters like flood, drought, cyclone, tsunami, earth-quake, tidal-surge, excessive and untimely rainfall and so on. The misdeeds by man which are mostly responsible for these catastrophes are cutting down trees, destroying forests and wild lives, emitting greenhouse gasses, causing pollution and so on. So, for the very existence of humankind, man should stop these inhuman cruel acts to maintain ecological balance.

পরিবেশগত ভারসাম্য শব্দটির সাথে যে শব্দটি আবশ্যিকভাবে যুক্ত তা হল পরিবেশ। পরিবেশের দুটি প্রধান সত্তা হল বস্তু এবং বল। সমস্ত বস্তু- প্রাকৃতিক এবং মানবসৃষ্ট- এবং শক্তি মিলে আমাদের পরিবেশ গঠন করে। অন্য কথায়, আমাদের চারপাশের সমস্ত উপাদান যেমন বাতাস, জল, মাটি, পাখি, প্রাণী, মানুষ, সমুদ্রের স্রোত, বাতাস, সূর্যের আলো, তাপ ইত্যাদি মিলে আমাদের পরিবেশ তৈরি করে। এখন, পরিবেশগত ভারসাম্য কি? পরিবেশের কোনো উপাদানই অন্যদের থেকে বিচ্ছিন্ন নয়। তাদের (দুই বা ততোধিক) মধ্যে একটি ঘনিষ্ঠ সম্পর্ক বিদ্যমান। স্বাভাবিকভাবেই, সমগ্র মহাবিশ্ব তাদের পারস্পরিক অদৃশ্য বন্ধনের মাধ্যমে, একটি ভারসাম্য বজায় রাখে বা বজায় রাখতে চায়। একে বলা হয় পরিবেশগত ভারসাম্য। পরিবেশের প্রতিটি উপাদানের সহাবস্থানের জন্য এই পরিবেশগত ভারসাম্য খুবই প্রয়োজনীয়। তারা সবাই সম্মিলিতভাবে একটি ওয়েব তৈরি করেছে। ওয়েবের কোনো অংশ বিঘ্নিত হলে সমগ্র পরিবেশ ভারসাম্যহীন বা বিশৃঙ্খল হয়ে পড়ে যা বিশ্বে বিপর্যয়ের কারণ হতে পারে। যদি কেউ খালি চোখে একটি ব্যাঙের দিকে তাকায়, তবে এটি একটি মূল্যবান জিনিস বলে মনে নাও হতে পারে। কিন্তু একটি ব্যাঙ বিশাল বাস্তুতন্ত্রের অংশ। ব্যাঙ ক্ষতিকারক পোকামাকড় খেয়ে ফেলে এবং এইভাবে ভারসাম্য বজায় রাখে। যদিও আমরা জানি না যে একটি ছোট প্রাণী কী গুরুত্ব রাখে, এটি হারানোর পরে বা এটি বিলুপ্ত হয়ে যাওয়ার পরে আমরা এর প্রয়োজনীয়তা দৃঢ়ভাবে উপলব্ধি করতে পারি। আবার সকলের মনে রাখা উচিত যে মানুষই এই শৃঙ্খল বা জাল ভেঙে ফেলতে পারে অবিবেচক বা নিষ্ঠুর কাজ করে যা মানুষকে শেষ পর্যন্ত বন্যা, খরা, ঘূর্ণিঝড়, সুনামি, ভূমিকম্প, জলোচ্ছ্বাস, অত্যধিক এবং অসময়ে বৃষ্টিপাতের মতো বিপর্যয়ের দিকে নিয়ে যায়। মানুষের অপকর্ম যা এই বিপর্যয়ের জন্য বেশিরভাগক্ষেত্রে দায়ী তা- হল গাছ কাটা, বন ও বন্য জীবন ধ্বংস করা, গ্রিনহাউস গ্যাস নির্গত করা, দূষণ সৃষ্টি করা ইত্যাদি। সুতরাং, মানবজাতির অস্তিত্বের জন্যই, পরিবেশগত ভারসাম্য বজায় রাখার স্বার্থে মানুষের উচিত এই অমানবিক নিষ্ঠুর কাজগুলি বন্ধ করা।
