A dialogue between myself (Miles) and my friends (Julian) about bad effects of drug addiction—
Miles : Hello Julian, you seem to be worried. What are you thinking about?
Julian: Yes, Miles, I’m ashamed too. My younger brother Pintu has already gone addicted to drug.
Miles : I know that Jul. Drug addiction is not only the problem of your family, it is a matter of great concern all over the world.
Julian: Can you tell, Miles, why he has got addicted though we are conscious.
Miles : There are many reasons behind drug addiction. Frustration, evil company, lack of consciousness, acute interest to forbidden things may lead one to drug addiction. Pintu may start taking drug out of curiosity.
Julian: What are effects of drug on the body of the addict, Miles?
Miles : When a person gets addicted, he enters into his own dreamland and can hardly comes out. He feels pain in body, loses appetite and gradually loses physical weight and mental balance what may lead him to death.
Julian: I think an addict is not only in danger; he also endangers others and destroys peace and stability of the family, society and country.
Miles : Right Julian. Moreover, when an addict can’t arrange money to buy drug, he gets connected with social crimes like snatching, stealing etc.
Julian: In a word drug addiction is a curse to our society.
Miles : Sure.
Julian: How do you think we can get rid of this curse?
Miles : I think government should strictly prohibit illegal trafficking, buying, selling and using of drugs. More addict care centers should be established to give treatment to the addict.
Julian: I agree with you, Miles but, I think, first of all needs making people aware of the terrible effects of drug addiction.
Miles : Of course.
Julian: Many thanks to you for your valuable information.
Miles : You’re most welcome.
Imagine you are Rafi. One of your friends is Rabbi. One day when you were walking along the road, an advertisement on drug addiction drew your attention. Now,
Write a dialogue between you and your friend about the bad problems of drug addiction.
A dialogue between myself (Rafi) and my friends (Rabbi) about problems of drug addiction—
Rafi : Look Rabbi, look at that wall-writing “An addict is not bad, not mad, he is sick”
Rabbi: Hmm.. Probably that’s an addict care center. Really drug addiction has become a great problem all over the world.
Rafi : What leads a person to drug addiction though he knows that it is dangerous?
Rabbi: Mental anguish resulted from frustration, failure in life-struggle or love are the strong reasons behind drug addiction. Many people being trapped in evil-company may get addicted to drug.
Rafi : At one stage the addict can realize that he is in wrong track. Yet, why doesn’t he come back?
Rabbi: Not he doesn’t but he can’t. When a person gets addicted, he feels acute pain in body until he can take drug. To arrange money for drug, he can commit any crime even murder or suicide.
Rafi : If this is the case, it is a horrible problem. Isn’t it grasping our nation too?
Rabbi: Yes, it is spreading its clutches to all levels—personal, family, society or state.
Rafi : How do you think we can get rid of this great danger?
Rabbi: I think illegal trafficking, buying, selling and using of drugs should strictly be prohibited by the government. More addict care centers should be established to give treatment to the addict. Raising public awareness is a must.
Rafi : I think we’ve also responsibility to make people around us aware about dangerous effects of drugs.
Rabbi: You’re quite right.
