City Life and Rural Life

City life and rural life are quite distinctive. Both have some different advantages and also disadvantages. We clearly see that the villages are naturally-made. Wherever we cast our eyes, we see glamor and originality everywhere in the village. Rural life is devoid of hassle and full of quietness and peace although the villagers are deprived of many modern facilities.
On the contrary, the city or town is artificially-made. So the city environment, life-style and even the mentality of the townsmen are artificial. In the town live the people who are always-busy and rushing forward for self-interest. They enjoy all modern facilities. Most developed schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, banks, government offices, roads, parks, recreation centers, transports and industries—all are at their grips. But the city people have to lead a complicated life.
They are to be compelled to take adulterated and poisonous food and drink, and breathe in polluted air. So they are more likely to be affected by different complex diseases. They are self-centered and sensual which is why they do not even know their neighbors living in the next flat. But the rural people are simple-minded and easy-going. They are peace-loving, helpful, hospitable and compassionate to the distress of others. They grow up and lead life in the midst of affection of nature, pure air, fresh food and vegetables, and mutual cooperation. Though they don’t enjoy modern facilities, they remain carefree. Usually they are happy with what they have and they are. However, there are merits and demerits of both city life and rural life. But whether a person lives in town or village it is not impossible for him/her to lead a life full of prosperity, humanity and peace.

শহরের জীবন এবং গ্রামীণ জীবন বেশ স্বতন্ত্র। উভয়েরই কিছু আলাদা সুবিধা এবং অসুবিধাও রয়েছে। আমরা স্পষ্ট দেখতে পাই যে গ্রামগুলি প্রাকৃতিকভাবে তৈরি। যেখানেই চোখ ফেলি, গ্রামের সর্বত্রই আমরা মুগ্ধতা ও মৌলিকতা দেখতে পাই। গ্রামীণ জীবন ঝামেলামুক্ত এবং নিস্তব্ধতা ও শান্তিতে পরিপূর্ণ যদিও গ্রামবাসীরা অনেক আধুনিক সুযোগ-সুবিধা থেকে বঞ্চিত। বিপরীতে, শহর বা নগর কৃত্রিমভাবে তৈরি। তাই শহরের পরিবেশ, জীবনযাপন এমনকি নগরবাসীর মানসিকতাও কৃত্রিম। শহরে এমন লোক বাস করে যারা সদা-ব্যস্ত এবং আত্ব-স্বার্থের জন্য সামনের দিকে ধেয়ে চলে। তারা আধুনিক সব সুযোগ সুবিধা ভোগ করে। বেশিরভাগ উন্নত স্কুল, কলেজ, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, হাসপাতাল, ব্যাংক, সরকারি অফিস, রাস্তা, পার্ক, বিনোদন কেন্দ্র, পরিবহন এবং শিল্প-সবই তাদের করায়ত্বে। কিন্তু নগরবাসীকে জটিল জীবনযাপন করতে হয়। তারা ভেজাল ও বিষাক্ত খাবার ও পানীয় গ্রহণ করতে এবং দূষিত বাতাসে শ্বাস নিতে বাধ্য হয়। তাই তাদের বিভিন্ন জটিল রোগে আক্রান্ত হওয়ার সম্ভাবনা বেশি থাকে। তারা আত্মকেন্দ্রিক ও ইন্দ্রি়পরায়ণ যার কারণে তারা পাশের ফ্ল্যাটে বসবাসকারী তাদের প্রতিবেশীদেরও চিনে না। কিন্তু গ্রামের মানুষ সরল-মনা ও সাদাদিধা। তারা শান্তিপ্রিয়, সাহায্যকারী, অতিথিপরায়ণ এবং অন্যদের কষ্টের প্রতি সহানুভূতিশীল। প্রকৃতির স্নেহ, বিশুদ্ধ বাতাস, তরতাজা খাবার ও শাকসবজি এবং পারস্পরিক সহযোগিতার মধ্যে তারা বড় হয় এবং জীবন ধারন করে। যদিও তারা আধুনিক সুযোগ-সুবিধা ভোগ করে না, তবুও তারা উদ্বেগমুক্ত থাকে। সাধারণত তারা যা এবং তাদের যা আছে তাই নিয়ে খুশি। যাইহোক, নগর জীবন এবং গ্রামীণ জীবন উভয়েরই সুফল ও কুফল রয়েছে। কিন্তু একজন মানুষ শহরে বা গ্রামে যেখানেই থাকুক না কেন, তার পক্ষে সমৃদ্ধি, মানবতা ও শান্তিতে পরিপূর্ণ জীবন যাপন করা অসম্ভব নয়।
